Mudinga, 2020

Artist: Nicole Monks

Location: Westmead Children’s Hospital

Nicole Monks was commissioned to create an artwork installation for the Westmead precinct as a part of the Westmead Hospital redevelopment. The 16.5m long wall features a series of laser cut aluminium blades which have been laser cut to create a ripple – like effect in the artwork. A traditional Aboriginal spear features alongside 15 spotted gum timber fish swimming away from the centre as the spear strikes the water.

Luke Russell and Scott Luschwitz were commissioned to create a spear for the work.
